What is a energy audit?

An Energy Audit measures how efficient your energy use is – in your home or your business. Talk to us and we can advise what we think suits your situation.

You may not need this full service and simply require a visit from an experienced professional to talk over your energy usage, look at your house give you tips where you can save energy in your household or business.

Or you may need a full audit with;

  • Your house construction method, existing insulation, size, aspect and window area are measured.
  • A total home energy use inspection and audit is completed.
  • Back at our office we use the BRANZ ALF software to calculate the effectiveness and calculated energy use of your existing house.

    Once your home or business is audited, you then receive a tailored individual report showing where you can save on heating, water heating, lighting and general energy use. The report includes three sections;

    1. Changes you could make to improve your living conditions and research on any existing problems your house or small business may have.
    2. A detailed guide showing other energy saving tips, including your true energy cost per kWh and payback period of improvements versus power costs.
    3. Computer modeled insulation report to NZ standard 4218 for your existing home and the improvement option.
